Yellowstone Day Hikes

  • Yellowstone

  • (May-Nov) 10-12 Hours

  • Private. Max group size 8

  • Yellowstone harbors one of the most pristine pieces of wilderness in all of North America. Few people get the opportunity to experience Yellowstone’s backcountry because of this. It can be a daunting thought stepping out of the normal and into a truly wild place. Especially one with grizzly bears. Let us take the worry out of planning a trek, and what beasties might lie around the next corner. Have peace of mind and a great experience, hiking in Yellowstone with one of our expert naturalist guides.

Begin with pickup at your lodging in Yellowstone or Jackson Hole and enjoy sightseeing through Grand Teton National Park on the way. Hike to hidden lakes, geysers, and hot springs, with a route tailored to your group’s abilities. Your guide will sniff out tracks, birds, wildflowers, and the serene beauty of Yellowstone’s trails. Guide for guide we pack more punch for in years of experience of any guide service in the park. On the trail is where this depth of knowledge and experience really shines.

Pro Tips: This trip is perfect for the adventurous Yellowstone visitor, exercise fanatics, or those seeking a true connection to the landscape. Wildlife encounters can happen, but are usually less common on trails than zipping around the whole park in a day in a vehicle. Yet, when encounters do happen they are memorable high-grade experiences. Sightseeing to and from the trailhead at select park highlights are possible both in Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Park, making this a great option even if you just have one day to see Yellowstone with a guide.

This tour can be tailor made to be a trail-running experience in Yellowstone. All of our guides are trail runners themselves and keep their chops up in the Tetons throughout the summer. We can’t stress the importance of having us along as your guide if you want to keep up on your training regiment while visiting Yellowstone. The way many like to do their training solo, in early mornings, with music etc is simply not safe, which is where we come in to keep things fun, and you out of the news (if you catch our drift).

    • Since this a private tour, there is flexibility in Itinerary. Please communicate any wishes you may have to us via email. Our guides are very skilled in the art of making adjustments in itinerary on the fly. Please feel free to express any unique desires you may have to them on the day of the tour upon pick-up. The tour will then be altered to meet your interests as much as is possible.

Examples of hikes are [Heart Lake (14 miles), or the Pelican Valley (4-14 miles) (July 1st through October)], The Mary Mountain Trail (1-25 miles). Avalanche Peak (~5 miles, 2100 vertical feet). Mt Washburn ~5 miles (1000+ vertical feet). Fairy Falls and the Grand Prismatic (5.6 miles mild elevation gain), Cascade Lake (4.4 miles round trip)
